Spend an evening with the University of Auckland’s Public Policy Institute (PPI), JCI New Zealand, and the University of Auckland’s Public Policy Club (PPC) as we navigate through standing for political office either at local government or national government level, raising awareness about diversity and opportunities for young people, and to encourage young people to get involved in local elections, as well as what it takes to be elected as a local board member.

During the evening you will hear from current board members and candidates in a Q&A session, and have the opportunity to network with our panellists, JCI New Zealand members and PPC attendees. You will also hear from Shreya Rao, Engagement Advisor with the West Local Boards at Auckland Council, about the Electoral voting process and how you can run yourself in the future.

Speakers:

Michelle Atkinson, Auckland District Health Board

Adriana Christie, Waitematā Local Board

Sarah Colcord, Manurewa Local Board

Jacqueline Paul, Auckland Council Youth Advisory Panel
Bobby Shen, Puketāpapa Local Board
